Mythos:
Running an underworld requires a lot of manpower, and this role is often filled by the Devilish. As humans are made in the image of the gods, the Devilish are made in the image of demons and devils. The afterlife is often a bureaucratic affair. The Devilish punch their time-cards every day and work for the King of Hell, tormenting sinners with flames and pitchforks. In some cases, they might be dispatched to the human world to collect a particularly troubled soul who refuses to pass on. The Devilish are not exactly evil, though some might enjoy their work a little too much, they are a necessary part of the cycle of life and death and rebirth. Like humans, the Devilish can be prone to ambition, and some might occasionally be convinced to join a demon general and try to overthrow heaven or wipe out the human world or that sort of thing.
Alt Names: Demon, Devil, Hellion, Hellspawn, Heccubus, Luciferian, Tyfling, Underling

Insight:
The imagery of little red devils with pitch forks is a common one, but I was also inspired by creatures like Dungeons & Dragons' Tieflings or Warcraft's Dranei. I was surprised by how little information there is about any sort of creature with this physical form, even though you see them so often. Their mythos blurb is based on Chinese and Japanese visions of the afterlife. If you're interested, check out the Emperor's trip to hell in The Journey West (which is sometimes just called Monkey in the west).
